Pink Blossoms

Not Cherry Blossoms, nor Sakura Blossoms
But as beautiful as they are ....

Ma Cherie Amour, My Juicy Cherry

Ma Cherie Amour
by Stevie Wonder

La la la la la la
La la la la la la

My Cherie Amour, lovely as a summer's day
My Cherie Amour, distant as the Milky Way
My Cherie Amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only girl my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine

In a cafe or sometimes on a crowded street
I've been near you, but you never notice me
My Cherie Amour, won't you tell me how could you ignore
That behind that little smile I wore
How I wish that you were mine

Maybe someday you'll see my face among the crowd
Maybe someday I'll share your little distant cloud
Oh, Cherie Amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only girl my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine

La la la la la la

Rose of the day : Bright Yellow Rose

One of my mom's collection of roses.
These photos were taken at my garden.
Although it has not fully bloomed, yet it was beautiful.
I love the color of yellow which is so fresh and bright.
Not only pretty, but this rose also smells good.

Orchids of the Day : Phalaenopsis sp.

These pictures were taken at my office when we got many bouquets of flowers last February. Among all, I love these orchids most.  The shape of this orchid is just like a big moth in beautiful purple color. That is why this Phalaenopsis Orchid is also called Moth Orchid.

Phalaenopsis has many colors, with or without stripes.  The white one is also known as Moon Orchid, maybe because of its white color and its round shape.

Hope you enjoy the beauty of these flowers.  Have a cheerful day!

V1olet's Garden : Banana Hearts

About 2 years ago, my friend gave me a very young banana tree about 40 cm tall. My mom planted it in front of my house but outside my yard. It grew fast and within a year I have already had some big banana trees, but only stems and leaves - very big, wide, green leaves. There's no fruit yet. Some say that a banana tree would only have fruit when she has already become a grandmother tree.

After a long waiting, a banana heart finally showed up among the green leaves.

Banana hearts are used as a vegetable in Southeast Asia, steamed, in salads, or eaten raw. The female flowers appear further up the stem, and produce the actual fruit without fertilization. The fruit has been described as a "leathery berry". In cultivated varieties, the seeds are diminished nearly to non-existence; their remnants are tiny black specks in the interior of the fruit. The ovary is inferior to the flower; because of stiff stems and the positioning of the ovary and flower, bananas grow pointing up, not hanging down. (Wikipedia)

Some say that to a certain condition, banana heart should be cut so that the fruits would grow bigger. Here are some pictures of banana heart after being cut.

Take a closer look, and you'll find beautiful and unique small flowers inside the banana heart. It is amazing to see Jehovah's creative works.

Banana heart is edible. It was sliced and stewed with coconut milk and some spices. It tastes sweet and delicious.
